They call us the Home of Unconditional Love.

Steps House was founded November 21, 1991. With principles based on integrity, love, compassion, and concern for fellow humans, Steps House has opened its doors to thousands who have sought refuge from the devastation caused by the disease of addiction and the ravages of homelessness.

Utilizing 38 homes, we provide three long-term continuums of care programs for men and women. We enjoy strong relationships and a well-respected reputation with state and local service agencies and treatment facilities. Steps House is a member of the National Homeless Coalition and the National Homeless Veterans Coalition.

Steps House serves in advisory capacity to the Knox County Drug Court and Department of Veterans Affairs, and we have received numerous organization and individual awards for excellence including an Outstanding Service Award from the Veterans Administration in 2001.

We work closely with our residents, with their family members, and with their case workers, parole and probation officers to ensure a continuous and complete recovery process.
