Steps House is blessed to have superb staff members who focus their energies on helping our residents heal. They work diligently to find creative ways to make our facilities serve as many people as possible. Meet them here:

Rev. Patrick White : Founder

Rev. Patrick White


Rev. Patrick White is a native of Knoxville. He founded the Steps House on Nov, 21, 1991. He is the Senior Pastor at Recovery Church and founded the Recovery Central Clubhouse for all 12 steps meeting in February 2018.

Jody Mcclurg is the CEO and Residential Recovery Program Executive Director.

Grant Henderson : Counselor

He is married with four children. He is an old timer in the AA program with 31 years. He graduated from Kaplan University with a degree in Psychology / Substance Abuse Counseling. He currently works as a Counselor in the Steps House Homeless Veterans Program.

Zack Newton : Director of Veterans Services

He is from Memphis, Tennessee. He attended UT Chattanooga and Pellissippi State College. He is the Assistant Director of the Residential Recovery Program, a position he has held for the last two years. He is currently working toward a LADAC certification.

Sandy White : Training Coordinator

Born in Oliver Springs, Tennessee and raised in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, she is a part-time Spiritual Advisor at Cornerstone of Recovery and the training coordinator for the Steps House. She is the District Committee Member Chair for district 6 in area 64 for local 12 steps groups. She has started many women’s 12 steps groups and Cocaine Anonymous meetings in the Knoxville area. She enjoys reading, cooking, Church, and working with women in early recovery.
